Meet Kate Schanuel: She will share her inspiring story growing up in Connecticut as a multi-sport high school student-athlete before attending the University of Maryland competing and earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference and All-Academic honors in golf while earning an undergraduate degree in kinesiology in 2007. Following a standout collegiate golf career, Kate became the first female golfer at Maryland to turn pro competing on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, playing in 14 events. She then embarked on a collegiate coaching career in golf to include the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Towson University for 7 years and currently in her 8th year as the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Georgetown University. Kate has a Masters in Sports Management from Georgetown University and is an LPGA MCG Academy Instructor teaching golfers of all ages at Falls Road Golf Course in Potomac, Maryland.
